Review of the Previous K.E.Y. PLATFRORM 2024
Under the theme of "Spacetime of Ionization: Scale Up the Brilliance.K," K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2024 examined the global situation, which was as unstable as ions with the U.S. presidential election on the horizon, and presented Korea's solutions accordingly.
With only about six months remaining until the U.S. presidential election, two scenarios were compared: an extension of the Biden administration and President Trump's return to the White House. The discussion explored the expected changes and Korea's response plan. In particular, we sought solutions through various interpretations of President Trump's second term, during which many changes are anticipated.
At Plenary Session 1 on the first day of the conference, Sun Keun Hong, Chairman of MoneyToday, and Edwin Feulner, Founder of the Heritage Foundation, engaged in a video interview to forecast a world where uncertainty will increase following the U.S. presidential election, while discussing response strategies. Additionally, Don Q Kim, a diplomacy expert and Editor in Chief of PADO, an international current affairs and literary magazine, took the stage to highlight the critical need to strengthen the alliance system in the Asia-Pacific region―a solution that remains essential regardless of the outcome of the U.S. presidential race. In the subsequent discussion, prominent experts from the Heritage Foundation and other distinguished institutions joined the stage to offer their insights on the trajectory of the U.S. election and its impact on the global landscape.
At Plenary Session 2 on the following day, innovative companies and the bio industry, which will become one of Korea's core solutions, were examined and discussed from multiple perspectives.
Special Sessions, which have consistently quenched the thirst for knowledge by covering detailed content in various fields related to key topics through presentations and discussions, received a great response in 2024 as well. In collaboration with Korea's leading national research institutes such as KISTEP and KISTI, we envisioned a world coexisting with AI. Global experts from Japan, Sweden, Türkiye, and other countries shared their vision and strategies for deep-tech startups, which are set to become future drivers of economic growth and national competitiveness. In addition, American political experts based in Washington D.C., including those from the Korean American Grassroots Conference (KAGC), took the stage to explain the U.S. presidential election―a topic that is often complex and weighty―in a more accessible and casual manner, enhancing the audience's understanding of both the U.S. election and the broader international situation.
